Instructions for Setting Up and Accessing Voicemail
INSTRUCTIONS FOR CLASSROOM TEACHERS
A classroom teacher that does not have offices has a voicemail-only extension. Voicemail-only extensions do not ring in classrooms or anywhere else on campus. As a classroom teacher, you need to do the following to set up your voicemail on the phone system:
- Press the ‘messages’ button on any phone.
- When the automatic greeting begins to play, press *.
- You will be instructed to “enter your id followed by #”. Your id is your extension so enter your extension followed by #.
- Follow the instructions. You will be asked to record your name, record an outgoing greeting, and set your password.
Once your voicemail is set up, you can follow the same set of instructions to check your voicemail.
The extension that displays on your classroom phone is the classroom extension which is different from your extension. Your extension is what is listed on our phone directory and website. There is no voicemail associated with the classroom extensions.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR FACULTY AND STAFF WITH OFFICES
If you have an office with a phone, then your extension will ring directly to the phone in your office. Do the following to set up your voicemail:
- Press the ‘messages’ button on your phone.
- Follow the instructions. You will be asked to record your name, record an outgoing greeting, and set your password.
Once your voicemail is set up, you can check your voicemail from your phone by pressing the ‘messages’ button, then typing your password when prompted. You can check your voicemail from any phone on campus by following the instructions for classroom teachers above.
ACCESSING VOICEMAIL FROM OFF-CAMPUS
- Dial the school’s main telephone number, 415-775-6626.
- When the automatic greeting begins to play, press *.
- You will be instructed to “enter your id followed by #”. Your id is your extension so enter your extension followed by #.
- Follow the instructions to enter your password and listen to your messages.
UNIFIED MESSAGING
Our system is designed to deliver an audio file copy of your voicemail to your email inbox. However, the two systems are not synchronized in any way. So when you delete a copy of your voicemail from your email inbox, it still resides in your voicemail box. We advise that you periodically go through and delete messages in your voicemail by calling into your voicemail via phone - this will ensure that you don't reach your voicemail inbox quota.
